Update

I've enjoyed having the extra week off -- I feel almost normal now .. well, you know, as normal as I'll ever be!

We had a great time in Lyme Regis, and enjoyed seeing everyone. Crazy Golf was the hightlight of the week for me. Kid sister Julie can still weild a winning club, after all these years!

Other highlights:
  • some lovely fish-meals out with family
  • the screen dad made for my elephant tapestry (it looks great in front of the fire place, dad!)
  • getting our credit card queried as Street cos I was using it so fast and furiously!
  • the fossil-walk-talk thing on Charmouth beach
  • B drinking 4 pints on Sat watching Chelsea v Man U ... she hardly drinks any more, so she was more than a little :: cough :: tipsy!
  • chocolate!

It is true that chocolate is addictive .. I keep craving it now.

We've also been making progress with the Shed since we got back .. I was working on firming up the kitchen plans today. It looks very lovely. Assuming that Chris (our workman) hasn't won the lottery then things should get moving more over the next week or two!

glad u fitted in an Easter break. Madeira was lovely. They have made tremendous progress in getting the place up and running although there is still much to be done. The most drastic signs of mudslide damage were up in the mountains. The hotel was a step from what I'm used to up , two swimming pools , jacuzzi, champagne at breakfast. I think u and B wud enjoy this island. The highlight of trip was actually flying over Stoke in the dark . All lit up ,iit looked like a golden spider's web with Stone , Stafford and thehuge mass of Birmingham , glowing like a galaxy to the south. Came back to much improved weather and have enjoyed pottering in the garden. Hope to see u soon . CATHY XX

Hope everythings going well with your treatment this time, I bet you missed seeing Barbara this week with Dominic coming to stay with her for a few days. Well I will say Bye for now L M.xxxxxxxxin

mmmmmmmm chocolate! I am on a bit of a binge at the mo too. Is it something to do with the season?!

Saw swallows swooping over the canal in the sunshine today. Made me feel very joyful.

Hi Suzie - You left a comment on my Macmillan rant - thank you - I have since tried to comment your comment there but without success!

I do have a blog of my own at

http://irascible-fairy.blogspot.com

which I would love you to have a look at.

Regarding our Macmillan nurse we are now very well sorted out with a wonderful woman.

Thank you again for the comment - I don't think that the problems we had were homophobic - I think that she was a selfish vindictive woman!

Hi Sue, Just read above post & I get the idea you've met an unpleasant nurse. That was the last thing you needed. In the past I have met some 'not-so-nice' nurses, & knowing they are insecure, childish & prone to tantrums doesn't comfort you when you are vulnerable. Anyway, I hope you find the person/people problem a thing of the past. Hope too that you are getting stronger & fitter.
So chin up & keep smiling.
Lots of love. Cousin Pauline. xx
