Bleeuuggghhhh

So the story goes:

and the infection got worse
and my temperature went up
and I dozed
and the path lab identified the bug
and the doctor said we cannot do the chemo
and he made me stay in hospital
and gave me antiobiotics from a drip
and they couldn't use the hickman line cos it had moved
and the other doctor had to take out the hickman line
and my temperature rose
and the RMO looked stressed
and I was stressed
and Brigid was stressed
and I cancelled most visitors
and I slept
and the first docotor said you've got to stay in
and my temeperature rose
and the RMO looked more stressed
and sweated some more
and chest x-rays were taken
and swabs were taken
and samples of fluids were analysed

and then the antibiotics kicked in

and now I am home again.

It has been a hard and scarey week.
Brigid has struggled with it all.

AND now he wants me back for chemo on Tuesday ........
and to re-insert a hickman line the week after
and more chemo as usual the week after that

so June turns out to be quite a month in hospital for me ..... for info if you are going to visit at any time!
PLANNING
Tues 12 - Fri 15th June ~ CHEMO NOT DONE DUE TO INFECTION

Tues 19th - Fri 22nd June ~ BACK IN FOR 7th LOT OF CHEMO

25th - 30th June~ mainly at home, PROBABLY GETTING NEW HICKMAN LINE on Thursday 28th.

Tues 3rd July - Fri 6 July ~ BACK IN FOR 8th CHEMO

9th - 14th July mainly home and open to offers.

yeah Matt - bring it on -

Keith just sent me an email saying I sounded more like myself .. (apropos of hectoring message I'd sent out!)

obviously the result of three weeks "off" chemo .. tho by Thursday I think the benefits will have been lost again!

No I was only joking about bringing work stuff. As indicated by the boom boom!

If you are reading this, we're all gagging for an update on the 7th lot, over on 'the dark side.'

Thinking of you and am keeping the home fire burning there, awaiting your return. (Enjoying a good giggle with Solange, too.)

Love to you and B and all,

Hi Susan , was going to say you've been in a worse state than Russia but I guess that's a) not an accurate analogy anymore and b) politically incorrect ( Language Change aaarrrr don't we just love it ) Hope you're in finer fettle now and you and B. can make it to Ann's soiree next Saturday. Missing you at work and missing your ICT skills. Bluespheres is now dead ( RIP ) - the stuff is still up but Megan isn't putting anything new on.
Talking of Megan - she did her back inthe other day due to Matt's antics. I was preparing some work on the Australian spiders editorial ( Enb5 ) in staff workroom which involved pasting pics of spiders . Knowing my fears of these wee beasties , Matt creepy crawlied his fingers up my back . Stupidly thinking it was a spider , I yelped and Megan swung round sharply to see what was going on and did her back in. She was rather cross. Anyway , hope to see u nxt Sat nite - love Cathy XX
