express train

whhooooo
that feels a bit fast suddenly .. went to see "boss" yesterday .. and she was lovely and we discussed what I might be able to do by way of getting my feet back under the table. It won't be much, esp bearing in mind I could well be having more surgery after Christmas ...

Anyrate b4 you even CAN go back to work you have to get the all clear from your GP, so I popped in to make an appointment, and there was one for that very afternoon .. so I've seen my GP and she thinks doing a bit will be very good for me.

So now I've got to see Occupational Health..

Then I found a letter from my surgeon asking to see me on Saturday .. so it's all coming together a bit "fast" now .. and I was awake very early today thinking about it all. Yoiu hear some real horror stories about reversals .. but then, do ppl having an OK time of it write it up on the internet?

You'll be fine. Though it seems to me, as soon as people return to work everyone expects them to work flat out. So, resist that pressure!

As for the reversal, get your strength back and things will be OK. Weird though, I guess.

Any chance of seeing you soon?

Susan , I'd delay your return to work until we have some good hard frosts to kill all these bugs off. It's freakishly mild at the minute. I'm currently laid up with a nasty virus. Don't think college is a very healthy environment at present , a real breeding ground for germs. Cathy

right then you're unanimous!

Im not going to be going back **full time** - we're only talking about a few hours a week MAX to get me used to being there ..not even teaching my own classes, cos they've got a cover for all year just in case I'm not well enough! I'll probably be doing stuff like training the supply teachers and 1 to 1 coursework sessions with A2 students

Esp, bearing in mind I'll be off again when I have the surgery, and it takes a while to get full control of the bowel after that (bleugh) so I wont start a proper staged return to work till even after that ... see, it FEELS fast mainly jsut cos it IS something happening, but it really isn't much!

Mark, I'll email you

Sue I think you are missing the point Cathy is saying collage at the moment is not a healthy place.
Dads got to go for a filling on the 20 nov, just a small thing he had it done before but it fell out, this lady dentist says she will do it right this time, I was OK
Byefor now L M xxxxx

Perhaps I'm biased at the minute but I am feeling absolutely dreadful with this virus and was 100% robust and fit before it dragged me down gradually and that descent began when I returned to college and the unhealthy environment of the over-heated classrooms coupled with over mild weather. Don't get me wrong , it'll be great to see you back and will be a big benefit to the students .. I'm just saying , it's germ city at the minute and I'd give the place a wide berth for a bit longer.

seems that the general feeling is that those bugs won't know that you are there part-time. Dense bugs in more ways than one.
