YIPEE

So you've probably already heard from dad (great post dad!) that we got good news today.

Dr Adab came out to collect us from the reception and in the little walk to his office he said "It's good, good, very good."

So that's it, the tumour is 1/4 the size it was in Sept, we're now calling it a bunino (Dr A says that is an Italian bun??) and you can tell he is very pleased with himself. So are we.

Brigid had a look at the scans (I don't like it) and she says it is magic, really amazing how small it is now.

dialogue:

Me: So how do I go on now with all these rules, like not swimming, no takeaways etc?
Dr Adab: Oh your immunity is getting better now, you will be alright, you need to keep active, exercise, build yourself up for the operation. Walk a lot, you know ..
Me: Yes, I can walk a lot and the yoga and get on my bike
Dr Adab: Yes good, walk, cycle, gym.
Me: Eh, Steady on, gym? I don't do gym, you'll be giving her ideas
Brigid: *big grin*
Dr Adab: The more strong you are the better you will get through the operation ..

Hmm, well

I'm NOT doing gym!

hi - I know what you mean about carrying leaflets and wlkingo cars - enough already!
I was thinking I'd like to do a few aerobic-type classes, but I'm not signing for a year at a gym when I can only do a month at best b4 the op, and then who knows .. I will look around for some pay-as-you-go ones -- (anyone in stoke know any?)

re the pic - it is a clip from outside 64 when we just arrived at the wedding ..

btw jean - how many more gym-craze things are there for you to try out? --
r us still kick-boxing?
or was it football the most recent craze?
or the personal trainer?
or what was that thing that knackered your knee? dowhill at speed something wasn't it?

I think strolling in the car-park might be your last ditch chance, lifting the leaflets an optional extra!

That is great news does this mean you'll be walking to lunch rather than driving?

I know its not stoke, but the gyms in 'castle do a pay as you go thing

Haha I totally agree on the gym thing!
At Shapes at Fenton Manor you can pay by the session or monthly...I suppose the only downside is you might bump into a few of your students.
Great news about the tumour, or "Little Bun" as it's now called.
And the picture is so happy!!
Lots of love

Excellent news! I still don't know about the week yet, but we could certainly do something of an evening even if the day doesn't work out?

suze said...

wow - I'll look into those two gym ideas -- I used to go to Shapes, but we are talking 15 years ago -- since then we have been members at Greens --- that was to help me with my bad back and what I mainly did was swimming ... In fact we cancelled our annual membership there on the basis that the money not spent on Greens would buy our flights to America! hahaha!

Now I want some classes with music that will motivate me to do aerobic stuff cos I think it is a bit too wet and cold for outdoor things ... (wimp I know -- but realistic)

@ Michael - evening is OK -- but day is still fave if you can, cos it is when I am on my own .. unless I am sweating it out at a newly found dance class, of course

Yay Suze!!! This news is great, bravo to you doing so well with shrinking that tumour. Tis clear you have the greatest of supports (yay Brigid) and excellent doctoring and that's best too...

And the gym, heck, yes i say... whatever you do, gal, tis worth it to work to get strong as the doc says... when i had major abdom surgery years ago, the best advice i got in advance was to train as if I were to going to run a marathon... the other thing was to do "instructional intervention" to work in advance with the power of suggestion, and positive imaging, to help recover fast in the post-op.... just some thots but really,

yay suze! you enjoy mightily.... and keep posting on yr excercise regime and other hijinks so we can cheer you on...

Erin grinning in grey old Montreal
and applauding!

Hi there my two dear ones! It was so great to be with you yest - I still keep having little shivers of happiness, and hearing Adab's voice as he walked down the corridor in front of us, saying 'it is good, it is all good' Hurrah!!

Any kind of excercise with music is a blast in my view! You could take up going up The Club as part of your regime!

@ Liz -- hahaha the CLUB might be better after June when smoking in public buildings is banned!

-- it was great to have you there with us yesterday .. and it was a good thing for you too, to be part of that good news --

I just ate some of your roasted squash in pumpkin soup (with radish and celery salad) - so you can see the health farm regime is tighening up now .. (don't tell anyone about yesterday's MIGHTY chips!)

ps can you send me erin's email addy so i can ask her more about "instructional intervention" (or send her mine if that is a better way round!) cheers

Great news! I'm so glad to hear things are going well.

Gyms sound to me like pretty evil places, but if you do end up going I hope it's not too awful :)

All the best

Oh wow!! Have just got back after a weekend away to find all your brilliant news :-) *big beaming smile*
I think you could celebrate a little bit with some cake. I take a slab of angel cake to munch on whilst i'm on the treadmill at total fitness - i get very bored otherwise but they've started to shout at me now as the crumbs are interfering with the electronics. But why do they put a can-shaped holder on the equipment if they don't want me to take some full fat coke in to keep my sugar levels up?
I'm waffling now
ooooh.... waffles....
sorry.
Good luck with the superfoods.... ;-)
And well done. So proud of you!!!

Bye for now. Cousin Pauline xx
