there were a few pushes today .. good phone calls with dad and then with mand helped
and then deciding to go out to buy a nice present for someone all helped me to feel more motivated..
and we had a nice lunch in town,
and browsed around town a bit together, which was so ORDINARY and therefore GOOD.

While we were out B's dad kept texting us news from The Valley and it turns our there HAS been football today, and maybe Charlton have turned the corner and can escape relegation,

so we are all smiles here and we have watched MotD with great enthusiasm tonight.

Susan,

I (half) watched Match of the Day too, and was amazed by Charlton's win. I knew Brigid would be ecstatic.

Thanks for Luke's (completely appropriate) card, he liked that and also was very pleased with the pretty crystal you sent to add to his collection.

I doubted you would be in the doldrums for long. Keep on sailing. One day you will be 'Done with the compass, done with the chart' (I KNOW you remember that poem).

oh Mark - glad I gave Luke a little treat!

yes indeed, that poem.. I know it totally ... but I'm surprised you can pull it up from the archive .. I might need to go and put that over on the other blog --

earlier this week I was thinking a bit of ED poetry would be good, but so many of hers are quite sombre, and I especially kept thinking of a very miserable one which I wont even quote here!

Wild Nights – Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile – the winds –
To a heart in port –
Done with the Compass –
Done with the Chart!

Rowing in Eden –
Ah, the Sea!
Might I but moor – Tonight –
In thee!

My poem for a nice bright sunny day like today.
I wandered lonely as a cloud that floates on high ore vale and hill.
When all at once I saw a crowd a host of golden daffodils, beside the lakee beneath the trees, flutering and dancing, in the breeze.
Wordsworth.

its your favourite english student mark hodson here. how are you doing? its been a long time, but you never forget a good teacher and we've never forgotten you! i got well excited when i saw you on facebook! the gay thing, that was just a couple of my pleb housemates hacking into my account i think, we are quite an immature bunch at times.
i was shocked when i found out about the cancer, but if theres one person that wont be beaten by it, its you, and of that i am very confident. its good to hear that you are doing well.
i hope that we can catch up sometime soon! ill try and get hold of your email ad off joanne.
great win for charlton by the way, i'll be looking out for them from now on because i love alan pardew, theres no way they will go down with him in charge in my opinion!
take care duck

hi Mark H -- yes, it's true I've not forgotten you .. tho many of my student tend to think they are the "best" LOL - I refrain from any such judgements!

I think my work email is on the facebook,it is my name (with a dot) and then @stokesfc.ac.uk

Your mates seem to have done a pretty thorough gay-ification on your Facebook .. I said to B "I can't qutie see that being true" - so I am glad to know my gaydar is still functioning... and you're NOT ! LOL

Yeah, Pardew seems a good sort - he was so conflicted yesterday, did you see him sipping his water everytime CACF scored? .. bless him!

Hi Sue, Bet you thort I'd bin away? Well I havn't I just got muddled with this (non-existent bug) mess., on p.c. A con that didn't work. Anyway, I sent bloggs but lost them. So just a light chat now to say I hope you are coming out of your dark days which are so natural & will pass I'm sure.
I can't visit yet as I have chest infection yet again & I felt sorry for myself as well.
Anyway, I have started watching the late nite comedy on Sunday of 'Father Ted' which Craig likes too. We'll watch it tonight. When you see Mrs Doyle you can think of me being the 1st class tea-lady. She is called Pauline McLynn. I read it on tinternet. So we Pauline's are ACE. Haha. Take care. Lots of love.

Hi to you both, I've sent a few pictures via email so I hope they reach you ok. Not one half decent one amongst them so I have to conclude that our Mark took all the photo genes and left me with something else. Love you xxxxx

Julie,

I left you the photogenic genes of course.

I'm pleased we all met up in Warwick. It was important to me.

Actuallly ....... I think I got the best photogenic genes -- I often think that look far better in pics than I do in r/l!

so far no email pics, either Julie ....

Thanks Mark, always there to say the right thing. Whereas I on the other hand can be relied upon to say the wrong thing with stunning regularity.
Oh dear I wonder where the pictures went. It took ages and my computer said it was a done deal. Drat.

It's amazing what a bit of 'normality' can do for the soul. Thank you so much for the present; I feel quite honoured to have such a mention in the blog!
