Spent a good day with Kate yesterday ... we worked on details for a couple of her job applications for a while and then switched to our favourite gossip topics after lunch... she was less than impressed with the vegetarian dahl we had to eat!
I really hope she gets one of these posts, but I will miss her, as we've got so used to spending time together a couple of times a week ..
Celia F is not coming to see me this morning, on account of the snow, which has settled deeply in the lanes by her house ... but we have fixed a date for next week and I am getting on with my stitching and await Mr K's arrival later this afternoon.
The snow isn't that deep here, in fact, and as I write it has actually stopped.
I'm scratching around for things to report on, erm .... I spent my first night back in my own bed last night? sorry, that's the best I can come up with!
Better go back to the needlepoint
xx
P.S. @ jean .. I forgot to say in the email ... you DO know Mr Andy K - he was at our wedding - I think you sat opposite him during the dinner ... here he is being amazed by our Estee Lauder collection:

HI, no snow in Stockport so far!
but I feel really snowed under!
Good job we have a week off next week!
take care xx
No, it would appear the "severe weather conditions" sweeping across the country have completely side-stepped Manchester.
Bloomin' typical... it'd be an understatement if I said I'd thought about having the day off work.
Susan, no snow here a nice bit of sunshine, and a quick short shower earlier on.
Went on my daily walk with W, and Dad went to get his prescription from the chemist in town.
Martin is here again doing the plumbing in the bathroom.
The Mystery boys wont be here tonight for their tea.
Dads just puting on a DVD he got from the library yesterday.
Will write again later lots of love Little Mummyxxxxxxxxxx
I think that's news; to be back in your own bed!
Yesterday was great; can't believe the contrast in weather today. And don't forget that if I get one of the jobs then I'll be working at Staffs!
Thank you soooo much for your help (and the, erm, lunch!)
xx
Hi Susan, the bathroom is begining to look how we wanted it, for days its just been bitty but its all coming together now.
Just had tea nothing exciting sausage and turnip and potatoe smash peas and gravy.Dads just making a drink and buttering some malt bread.
Did you sleep O K in your own bed last night? a little pillow between your knees helps to relax your back, Im a mine of information arnt I.
Will go and drink my tea now, lots of love L M xxxxx
oh aye mum, you are a mine of info! It's a good tip,I'm sure .. I slept better that I thought I would .. in fact..
@ kate -- that "erm, lunch" was quality lentils, you can have a kick of the pantry door next time you come (that's another tip off me mum!) ..
B now undermines me by saying why dja think she went out with Mike instead of eating with us? .. she promises you more Osso Bucco soon!
Ah, thanks for the pic of Andy. I was just having a senior moment - of course I remember him. *Waves at Andy*
Delighted you got to kip in your own bed. Yet another small step for Suzekind.
I'm sad to report that the Mystery boys weren't here for their tea, either.... where the hell were they?! :)
Mwah.
Jean xx
ah Jean - no point waving at Andy - he steadfastly refuses to read the blog -- BECAUSE ......... he has survived the weekly entries in the Guardian and then the book about Living with AIDS .. penned by Oscar someone I can't remember the details, but you'll know it, Oscar's account of his gradual demise
and Andy thinks this blog will be the same, and I cannot shake him from that pre-conception.. *roll eyes*
It is one of the Mistry brothers tricks to dine out in~cognito! That's how they keep their monicker!
Hi Susan its very wet today I rang John told him to bring up any ironing they may have he will call when he goes to Tesco at about eleven.
Jean the boys were not able to come we are geting our bathroom spruced up and the place is full of dust and tools.
What with the water being turned on and off we may have got no tea anyway.
Hope you are feeling alright today Susan and managed a nights sleep in your own bed again.
The boss bloke is coming today to help Martin put the shower screen up the shower head looks really posh.
Will close now lots of love to Brigid what would we do without her shes a star, lots of special love to you L M xxxxxxx
That is one heck of a collection Andy is observing - is that yours OR Brigid's?
have you spoken to Andy about OIL yet?
@ Julie - that is PART of our joint collection of estee lauder ... :)
@ James - thanks, yes I did, as a matter of fact .. tho I dunno if he has taken up the idea! I hoep the snow aint too bad for you to get here tomorrow :(
Age is so cruel - keeping beautiful appears to take more time, and greater quantities of increasingly expensive products doesn't it.
I have obviously given in to the unequal challenge. My boys continue to find me beautiful - but I fear that at a certain age their vision will correct itself.
It may have already started as the other day Joe pointed out that if I wore all white I too could look like a snowball - just like Nanny.
Talking of Nanny, thanks for doing our ironing Mum, out of interest did you use TCP at the same time as the clothes have a slightly medicinal twang.
Hi Susan whats that pesky sister on about, its the soap powder she uses, she needs to go to Aldi for some non bio.
The bathroom wont be finished till Monday the frame is up on the shower now.I have just washed my hair in the kitchen sink didnt realise how high up it was or I have shrunk a bit.
Lots of love L M xxxxx
I don't know what impression these posts give of my family
Well - that's not true .. I DO know what impression these posts give of my family.
Mum - the growth hormones are in the post, but don't take them all at once!
Julie, I'm sure you don't look a bit like a snowball!
Listen Mum my soap powder may be responsible for shrinking my clothes but they don't normally smell like somebody has aired them in a hospital. Anyway thanks for ironing them, we were down to shorts and T shirts.
Susan I don't think I do look like a snowball thank you very much - and far be it from me to bring up images of you on a bike in Scotand, but really.
*tsk*
you said I looked like a PILLOW , if I remember correctly? WELL you need a lot lof layers on when you are cycling in SNOW!
Susan not wishing to overmix my metaphors, but isn't that just a touch of the pillow calling the snowball round. Love Julie
LMAO @ the pillow-snowball comment. Very funny. If it wasn't so damn circumstantial, I'd steal that one.
SAm - you can steal my entire sister if you want!
Well I never did - how very dare you.
