Hey ho - we had a decent weekend, nothing dramatic (of course) but peaceful and cheerful. Rini came round last night for an hour or two which was fun.
I've slept a lot during the day today - if I exert myself there has to be a pay-back, it seems.
Other than snooze I have started to sort out what we can do at Easter to get a little holiday down South .. looks like we can get a van in Lyme Regis.
We really fancy the idea of being by the sea at Easter...
April 8th is our first wedding anniversary -- I think it's safe to assume that we're never going to match mum and dad, who clock up 50 years together at the end of the month!
and thinking of weddings leads into ....

funny thing - Ian called us last night to say he'd just been in Brum and met a couple of guys whom WE had met on our honeymoon in San Fran! Maybe they'll pop in here when Ian tells them the address

There is also something a bit sad about thinking about San Fran, cos we had the most fantastic time, and met some lively ppl but it was also when I first noticed the symptoms which eventually got this diagnosis..
a quite other sort of annniversary ..

Hope my news did not upset you though being a reminder of the holiday and the 'discovery'.
Don and James spoke so very highly of you both - apparently they had intended to keep in touch but lost your contact details.
The were as amazed as you I think that I knew you both. We had a lovely weekend with them and I hope that it will be the start of a good friendship. It is especially nice for my partner as it gives him an opportunity to talk in his own language. He finds the attitude of some of my fellow country men - so small and self centred.
After the experience of cancer at second hand I see that all too well.

We did have that wonderful wedding and you two had your fab San Fran honeymoon without the diagnosis to cope with, and I think there is a kind of grace in that.

Hi Ian - I can't find Don and James' details either - so it would be cute if you passed addresses etc between us. B and I totally agree they are lovely couple and we found them very engaging company .. it is spooky how small the world is .. that you should all meet up and then unearth our mutual frienship.

Hi Sue, Venita here. I've been reading your blog religiously every week and been thinking of you lots. I realised that you haven't a clue you have such an avid blog reader but here I am. I have to say I'm now hooked on reading your mum's entries too. They are just lovely. Like all the pics as well even those from yester year - I'd have fallen for that toreodor jacket too - and still have it in my wardrobe - can't throw anything away.

Hi Sue, Cousin Poe here. Guess it be nxt wk b4 I visit u now as the wkend is busy,busy. It b my birthday 2mirra 58yrs & just 2 yrs b4 my free bus pass. O happy days, sitting on busses with all the farm smells,smiling faces & all 4 FREE.
Also it b mothers day this Sun & I busy Sat so it looks like nxt wk b my 1st chance of a visit.

Gosh pauline It may be short type but I must be ageing it takes me ages to fathem it out.
Took a trip down to Aldi and Matalan,then popped into B and Q, didnt get much.
Been a nice day again though its forcast snow in Scotland,it was very foggy here in the night, I was surprised it had all gone when I got up.
Susans been a bit short of visitors this last couple of days so as only had the nurses to talk to, she wil be home again tomorrow, if she feels up to it will probably get on to this blog.Lots of love to you all L M xxxxxx

Venita - it is lovely to know you are reading a lot. I got a parcel from Mandy (Conley) this week and a long email from Lynn, so it feels right like old times -- not forgetting that Mandy Shilton calls me daily. I can't put into words how wonderful that feels to hear from you all just now ..
Doesn't it amaze you to think we can assemble in a (very) few years time to celebrate 40 years since we started school together .. Our very own Ruby Anniversary!
I'm also massively cheered to hear that I'm not the only 70s lass who would cherish that jacket -- even Lynn (almost)said she admired it .. which I think is a tad unlikely to for a QC of her elegance! ..
oh this has set me off on 70s jackets! Didn't your mum make you a lovely reversible jacket in our Queens Road days? and that funny one I had with sort of applique look stars and rockets on it, I think .. hmm ..

Cheeky monkey, no they dont have a Matalan at Lyme acctually they dont have many of my type of shops, more your antiques and nick nack shops. A very steep Street with shops on both sides of the Rd,which I wont be visiting, to much strain on he old knee caps.
