bleuurgh

bleeuurgh

That pretty much defines the day I had yesterday .. couldn't seem to shake off the bad-belly (nauseaus and diah... however you spell it - you'd think I'd learn, really ...)

I felt so tired all day - no energy for even a short burst of something ...

I was certainly not good company, poor B!

This is how chemo can get to you ..

bleeuurgh....

On the other hand
Keeping going the retro photos theme (which has proved a winner with some readers) dad has been scanning and emailing old photos ... if you've got some at home you think I should use, please do the same! These put a smile on my face ..

Julie, how old were you here in this glorious mini-skirt and sensible shoes combo?

1974
Dad says it was 1974 ... Julie's first day at High School in her new uniform
That means I was nearly 15 in this shot - that's Year 10 in new money. Note the platform shoes.
Mark would be Year 9 .. he looks it, doesn't he!

The other day I was commenting to a friend at work about the all but non existent skirts some of the students slip past under the label of clothes. Now look, it appears it's another example of 'do as I say' rather than 'do as I did'
Although given that next weeks washing is still covered up in my case I'm thinking that skirts are getting shorter and my moral high ground isn't totaly lost

Hiya Susan, sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit rough.

The old Whitley Abbey uniform was horrible, luckily the 'gold' braid has been ditched. Luke gets to wear a much smarter plain black jacket.

There are three years between Julie and I, so when she started in Year 7 I would have been in Year 10. You were in Year 11. 1st, 4th and 5th in old money!

I confirmed the caravan booking you made for us, and sent off a cheque. The family gathering will be great, in fact I think it will be the first time all 11 of us have been together at once.

love you xx

Incidentally, our house in The Countess's Croft is up for sale. £190,000 if you are feeling really nostalgic.

Love your shoes on that picture! :-)

Hi Suze

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling too good recently... Hope things are a bit better today!

I just thought I'd give you a quick wave to let you know I'm still here even though I don't post often :)

Have a good week if you can!

Greg. xx

P.S. Was the Ian who posted on the other thread Ian from Stafford?

@ Mark - gosh I thought about it for ages, what years we were all in relative to the other -- still got it wrong haha .. but then I never even know how old I am 1/2 the time, so ....

I'll not be moving back to Cov .. tho I feel I already DO nostalgia, living in a house which is virtually the same design as that one!

@ greg - good to hear from you -- indeed it is the self-same Ian from Stafford! r u still in Gernamy?

Yes, still here -- I was back in the UK briefly for an interview last weekend but I'm back in Germany again now. Things are slow and there's no gossip I'm afraid!

Sounds like yesterday/today are better than Sunday, which has to be a good thing! Enjoy the clear weather -- it won't be too long before it's warm enough to venture out into your nice new garden instead of being stuck indoors :)

*waves to Ian*

Mark I liked our uniform, funny how our experiences of the same school were so different. Glad to hear Luke likes it. See you soon.

btw - Julie -- dad has sent over the scan of you in your nurse's cape! Take that as a warning! LOL

It wasn't me.

suze said...

haha - it soooooo was -- and the little face on YOUR picture looks exactly like your son Joe .. so it's incontrovertible! (I slipped in an even fancier word than tundra there .. for the language lovers)

suze said...

I may have even spelt it right too!

Anyone mention convertibles? *looking around eagerly*

I so LOVE these photos - thank you muchly for sharing them.

The jury on Joe's looks is still out. Without question he's beautiful, but he looks so like John - yet he looks like me too. Yet I don't think John and I look anything alike.
PS is this convertible red or blue?

And more to the point has it got a working gearbox with all gears primed and ready to work. It's true I will miss the oportunity to make small talk with the local AA team, however it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Where do I sign?

Anonymous said...

Sign right here, please, Miss. You can drive it away as soon as you get some wheels.

Reg from the AA says he'll miss you but he's sending you a photo of him in the brown and gold uniform that you admired so much - the last seventeen times you called him out.

Ah Reg how I'll miss seeing the beautiful Dorset sun glinting off his gold braid (not to mention off his toupee)But we always knew our time together was brief. No the time has come to say a fond farewell to Reg, Ben, Andy, Steve James indeed all the AA team I have grown to know so well. For now it is bye bye and thanks for all the lifts. It will be strange leaving Dorchester without one of you riding tandem - but I feel a change is due.

If you fancy a change, my widget is here for the taking.

Jim I hardly know what to say in response to such a kind and selfless offer -however when I married John I distinctly remember saying I'd never look at any other widgets.
Anyway good old Reg N Plate and I will always remain friends, and should I need to call a back up service he will always be my man (well as long as his toupee adhesive holds).
