Blue sky

It's so bright and blue here today .. really lovely (thos still icey cold).
I had a decent day yesterday .. mooched about on tinternet for a bit... dozed a bit and then went out to town for an hour with Kate ..

B even got home form work at a decent time, which was good, and we watched Jean on telly in the Dispatches programme about domestic violence ... grim. 9the topic, not my very own lovely Jean!)

I've got visitors planned for today, and will doze in between, though I really need to get out and stretch a bit .. which is very important too ..

Hey hey... its bloody freezin here. And while we're on the topic of weather, guess who attempted to drive back to Manchester in the (quite frankly) Antarctic blizzard on Sunday night then...? I'll never learn.

Oooh, but on the up, just passed another one of these Financial Services exams. Shame I couldn't give a crap about the Financial Services... (lol).

xx

PS. Wish I lived a bit closer to pop round for a cup o' cocoa.

Hi Sue, Cousin Poe here. Hope you are feeling well today.
Those 'retro' photos are very nice & I believe it's a privilege to be given a peek into your 'personal world'.
Is this a new 'retro phase' you're going through?
I've 'worn that t-shirt' before as the saying goes. It can be quite theraputic sometimes.
Well, I did promise a visit this week didn't I?
I think I'll send a message on t'other 'ne,i.e. email. Anyway Sue, have a nice day & lots of love.
From Pauline xx

hi pauline, I didn't call you cos I didn't have (couldn't find) your number, but I've got it from dad now and will contact you later ..

@ sam Antarctic? me and Kate thought it was Arctic .. discuss?

Kate said...

Definitely the Arctic; a polar bear told me so.

suze said...

aye - I'm with the polar bear too

Anonymous said...

After careful inspection, you are both (along with said polar bear) wholly correct. I'm clearly confusing my Antarctica's with my Artic's. But c'mon girls, lets not split hairs here... they're virtually neighbouring countries...

;o)

As it happens, I clearly had to go and investigate aforementioned blunder, and it turns out that you can get such a thing as an Antarctic blizzard. Not the saying commonly used, but such a thing exists....

So yeah. Where's that bloody polar bear.... he should have known better!

LMAO!

suze said...

aye you maybe can -- but up North here we get our winds from the Arctic, and we thought it literally was fresh from the tundra (get that for a techy term!)

He's sitting right next to me, Sam. Do you want to tell him to his face that he's wrong? Heh heh...

Sam - it's only that tame Polar Bear from Germany. Stick to your guns! :)

Suze sweetheart. I'm sorry I've neglected posting in your blog but I always read with interest and empathy!

I've been on a bit of a pre-tranmission promo whirl for the documentary. F'instance, I did GMTV news at 6.30 on Monday morning - yuck - car came at 5.15 am! Then a chat with the lovely Lorraine Kelly and later a half hour webcast as the 'GMTV expert.'(My first time doing that malarkey) Then a 12 hour day at work to come home and find the fridge had gone warm....not the best time for a bit of friendly blogging!

I'm also in the middle of funding bids and end of year finances and I'm verrily spinning! Have to go now (maternal unit at door) but more as soon as I have calmed down.

Love you always, however frantic I am!

Managed to get my friend motivated so went for a stroll to the market, well on the way down the lens fell out of my glasses. It was lucky it didnt drop to the floor I just managed to catch it Winnie couldnt stop laughing I think my antics saving my lens must have looked quite funny, we then decided to walk into town to get the optician to sort it out.
We called into the market on the way back.
We had lamb for tea with smash pots carrots and parsnip and peas along with gravy and mint sauce.
dont put this blurge on the blog.
Bye for now L M xxxxxx

Oooh, tundra... I like that. Someone's been watching more than one episode of Planet Earth!! LOL.

Anyways, enough of this hot (well, cold) debate... whats a bit of wind between friends...?

;o)

PS. Jean, I thank you kindly for your support... talk about two gals and a polar bear on one!

I have taken the liberty of asking a friends pet Arctic Hare (Harriet) about the issue discussed above. Harriet hare reliably informed me that it could - at a very substantial push - be either. However she was a little concerned about the mention of hair splitting - because from her families experience it didn't ususally end well.

LOL

you lot are hilarious!

Mum, I couldn't possibly edit your blurge - it has its own fan-club, believe me!

@ jean - we watched you on TV .. B says the idea of "12 of you in the borough" might be a bit overwhelming, but she's all in favour!

I like your style Julie. Glad someone took some initiative. My regards to Harriet… please issue the appropriate reassurance that no hare-splitting will go on in my presence.

Now hare-raising… that’s a whooooole different board game. A joke if I may……

An Arctic/Antarctic (delete as applicable) explorer came face to face with a polar bear. Afraid of being eaten, he fell to his knees and started praying. When the polar bear knelt down beside him and started praying too, the man shouted, "It's an effing miracle!" The polar bear, irritated by this outburst, opened one eye and said "Don't talk while I'm saying grace."

Now now, calm yourselves down... I go on tour from September, discounted tickets from http://www.notevenslightlyamusing.com

:D

Sorry to report that the tour is sold out.

Kate said...

Well, damn. I'll hang around the stage door to try and get an autograph instead.

At a push you could try EBay, but I hear people are storing the memorabilia up for when he gets so famous that he ends up on Celeb Big Brother - or Stars on Ice - or, or, or - you get the drift.
No I'm sorry to say Kate this particular boat has sailed without some people getting onboard.
