nice at the back

@ Julie - re mum's coiffure -- I know - I did raise "NVGBC" with her on the phone, but she insisted it is nice at the back ..

And, on the topic of celebrity coiffure ... the woman in Estee Lauder complimented me on my hair colour today
hmm, at this point you might wonder why I'm in Estee Lauder territory at all, but you know, sometimes you just NEED another lipstick, and I specially like their everlasting ones -- cos they do everlast, or at least more than 1/2 a day --- and they did have one of their free gift deals on again ..
so
*shrugs in a powerless fashion*

And while I was feeling quite chipper for an hour or two today I thought I may as well do MORE shopping and I have invested (great word that) in a classic Spring Coat from M&S..
(more @ Julie, dja remember when you were trying on a very silly, very short, bold check skirt in Hanley, many moons ago, and the sales-lass said it was an investment piece and you said "What I'll leave it to my kids in my will?" )

Which was almost as daft a bit of sales-pitch at the woman who told me I could wear my totally sequin covered toreodor jacket "anywhere" ... tho I obviously fell for it, while you spurned the lovely little skirt...

Just to prove it, here is a pic of me "anywhere" in said sequin number .. this must be Christmas about 14 years ago -- see mum equally dolled up in her best beads and dad setting a sartorial standard all of his own!

Indeed you might appreciate two shots of this investment piece -- which of the boys would most appreciate it as an heirloom?

Well Sue I do remember that rather gaudy top, though at the time I thought it looked nice at the back, just said that for a laugh.
You seemed a bit brighter on the phone this afternoon.
So you should if you have been out spending on a long life lipstick.
We took things to the caravan today, it was really warm on the sea front.

oh well mum, I asked for that! Don't work too hard on the widow twanky routine!

I tell you some people would pay to get the workout I kindly offer Mum free of charge when she does the ironing. And does she thank me? no she does not.
I recall buying a lovely little mini skirt on the 'investment piece' shopping trip all those years ago - and I wore it endlessly. With all due respect I hope it didn't catch the eye quite as much as your sequin (Liza Minnelli) special.I think you might want to ask around your friends as to who would like to inherit the top - don't worry about taking up space and keeping it for the boys.
PS Mums hair looks lovely all round cheap or not.

cheeky buggers - that's a quality jacket and I'm sure there will be plenty of interest in it. In FACT if I lose a few more pouinds I'll be able to wear it "anywhere" again myself. I rather see it as I pace the corridor at the Nuffield, wheeling my IV drip behind me ...

Last time I was in there a patient mistook me for a member of staff (???!!!) I wonder what they'd take me for in me best jacket?

p.s. Julie - did you REALLY wear a mini-skirt?

Gaudy top! lol. It goes well with that chipper hairstyle!

Hello sweetheart. Pleased to see you're UP on the chemo-coaster today.

I'm bogged down work-wise at the mo. Sort of looking forward to the transmission of the Dispatches programme about domestic violence on Monday week (19th March.) Not too worried about being made to look an idiot (habit of a lifetime) but I didn't have time to GHD my hair. Viewers might think I come from Stoke....:p

Off to work now, again, but hoping you're feeling ok and you and B are having a nice time.

With much love,

Jean xx

ooh Jean - are you going to be on Telly again ?

and it's Dorset that's famous for it's econmic hair-dos, not STOKE, I'll have you know
(good to hear from you again, xxxxxxxxxx)

Were you to wear your your best jacket within the hushed confines of the Nuffield, I'm guessing you may be mistaken for a member of the 'care in the community' movement. It could probably start an all out riot.
Well I say mini skirt - more of a just above the knee number really.

Small ads: one gaudy jacket, worn only once (anywhere) might suit stylish woman about Stoke. Would look at home in the Three Tuns. No timewasters.

Honest to God you lot are cheeky -- that coat cost me a small fortune - it's Leslie Fay classic, silk shell, with shaded sequins, not a Drag Queen Special from Primark

and none of you cheeky lot will get it bequeathed to her!

PS
Hi Laura - *big wave*
good to see you!
