home again

This chemo was not so bad without the oxyliplatin .. I feel far less sickly and quite alert compared to previous levels of tiredness. I enjoyed a good bunch of visits and send my thanks to Woolfie for bringing me home on Thursday. *mwah*

All being well I'm back in again on a two week schedule, and that's the last. Then the week after there is another scan. Trying hard not to think about the scan. I sooo much want a break now .. a bit of time without the chemo-fog.

B is asleep - managing to actually STOP herself from scurrying around in a busy busy whirl. That's good. I'm going to make us meatballs for tea, also good, so it's all good here!

Hi. It's cousin Pauline here. Just read the latest news. It must have been quite an ordeal going to the lady's funeral.

You are a star, very brave & I hope you are feeling well.

I'm sure B is tired & in need of a good sleep.

I've been out working on a little job & just taking this time on p.c. while Craig watches telly.

Lots of love, Cousin Pauline xx

Hiya,

I saw Nana yesterday, she seems quite well and still sharp enough. She said she had spoken to you, and even asked me if I still had your old car, so I think the memory is fine. I sat holding her hand for an hour, in the end I didn't want to leave.

I have a day of 'flexi' leave today, time off in lieu in other words. Which gave me chance to visit my GP. The joint of my left big toe has been getting a bit sore. I suspected arthritis following on from bending it right underneath my foot(ages ago)whilst playing footy without footwear. I can still hear Luke howling in laughter as I howled in pain... Kids! It WAS quite funny I suppose, my initial 'ow' escalated into a deafening 'OW!' as I realised just how sore it was. Anyway, the GP has said it is 'soft tissue damage' and fobbed me off with Ibuprofen. Surely that sort of damage would have been appartent at the time, not months later? I still suspect arthritis.

So, are we coming to see you this weekend, if so which day should we come?

Wow Mark... sounds painful! Amd I can totally sympathise. I've had a load of soft tissue injuries in various joints and I can only confirm that, once damaged, they rarely repair properly so there's a good chance that any ongoing pain is just a result of that; especially as you really seem to have felt the pain at the time.

I might be completely wrong, of course; I'm not a dr or owt. Just going on my own experience. Maybe see if you can get referred for physio? Or try and get a second opinion if you're not convinced? Either way, I hope you get some relief soon 'cause I know what a nightmare it can be. Good luck!

It appears that the KateBez Bullshit Medical Surgery is open for business.

Now suze, do you want any medical advice from me?

;)

Thanks. Your bullshit is better than any other I have heard today. I think maybe you are right about the second opinion.

I agree re physio - I've had fantastis results from their electrical gadgets with soft-tissue injuries, esp the restoration of my little finger which I broke when we were cycling in the Outer Hebrides .. I couldn't get it strapped .. so it mended on its own, and hurt a fair bit and wouldn't bend properly until the physio had a couple of blasts at it ...

re visit - Saturday? perhaps we can go somewhere ..
