Sue I will just fill you in on a couple of things yes that is grany Bloor, she took in laundry for people untill she was turned 90,she boiled all the whites and starched stuff, then ironed it ready for collection.
The three big bridesmaids dresses were lemon made by Nan Toft, Janets was white and we got that dress from the bridel shop somewhere in Hanley along with mine, come to think of it the shop was where you come out of the shoping C. at the bottom of Huntbatch St.
Dads taking his daily doze I tried it before doing this but Im hopeless trying to sleep in the day.
See you soon lots of love to both of you L M xxxxx
Kingsley's wild and foppish hair, topped by a well placed turret is mesmerising...
Jean xx
That is a huge achievement!
Lovely pictures and it is so graet to share them like that with us!
Congratulations and lots more of happiness!
I think you may find that it isn't actually a turret, I believe it may have been the consequence of Kingsley dabbling with a new and innovative fashion

Best wishes to you both on 50 years. The cake stand had a recent airing for Robert and Shelley's wedding - hopefully it will be out again next year for our Ruby (40th). Love to You all. See you Tuesday Sue. Aunty B xx
I agree with Julie - mum and dad, you both look fab in these pics, and I used to love looking at them in the album as a kid .. it's great to have them on-line now!
I think I had that cake stand at my first wedding too ?
--- we had a massive box of chocs instead of cake at our Civil Parternship!
see you on Tuesday, Barb
When I'm on the other computer
I'll upload the pic of Kingsley with smooth hair at the start of the day!
meanwhile we went up 'anley duck and it was a bitter cold wind blowing 50 years later too .. you must have been frozzen in them lacey frocks!
They're lovely. I'm so glad you're getting on this nostalgia vibe Suze. I love photographs of bygone days...
A little round of applause for Kodak if I may.
Crikey Dad, Mum went off to bed on your anniversary and gave you 40 winks...
How much of a clue do you need?
Get in there!

Mum and Dad,
Does one person deliver ALL the mail in Dorchester? I am amazed your cards didn't arrive until 4.30 pm. Better late than never I suppose.
What time was second delivery until it was scrapped by Royal Mail?
Incidentally, anybody still using recorded delivery should stop doing so. Royal Mail now treat this as first class, nothing is 'recorded', so you are wasting your money. If you want something to be (fairly)sure to arrive always use Special Delivery.

Lol. Subtle change of topic and top tip - thanks Mark!
Julie - I'm still smiling at your helpful point of information. Fashion dabbling seems to run through your family ... *insert pic of gaudy jacket here*
Big love to Suze and B - hope all is well.
Jean xx
HAHA - you could insert almost any pic of any of us here for humour in the fashion tispta line!
Hi Sue, Well what great photos & just to see how my own relations looked back then is interesting. I would be 8yrs old at the time & BOTH my parents alive. We lived in Ossy (land of Gobbins)then. No cloggs, but the dark mills were alive & well.
I do hope your mum & dad have a very happy anniversay & I'll try & visit this week. I'll give you a ring in the morrow.
Lots of love. Cousin Pauline xx
Sue was trying to blog this morning bbut the comment thing wouldnt come up.
I was looking at the pictures this morning and i just had to laugh It looks like our hats are plates balanced on our heads.
Pauline just sent a E Mail the speaker was on so loud it nearly blew my ear drums out.
Hope you are O K today, this time next week you will be in our neck of the woods looking forward to that.
Bye for now L M xxxxxxx
Dads looking for something in the bedroom
that goes onto his camera, its that longg ago since he used it he aint got a clue where it is. xxxxxxx
Sue I recall spending many an hour looking at the wedding album too - and I even remember the feel of the cover. I'd like to say the celebratory outing passed without hitch, but in true Mum and Dad style we got split up and lost between here and the restaurant last night. It's hard to imagine HOW when you consider the restaurant is as close to us as your oatcake shop is to you. But there you go. However once we all met up again we had a good time. I think the cost made Mum and Dad a bit weak - wait till we hit Hell Farm!!!!
Dleightful... Saturday was my 23rd anniversary so we have a bit of catching up to do :-)
Hugs & kisses from the big old softie at Sixth Form
Mum and Dad are threatening to hit me in response to the above comments. Am I too old to call the NSPCC Seems that they are both experiencing a sense of humour failure (not unlike their navigational failure on Sat night) Sorry to both of you for any intentional or unintentional offence.
Those photos look just like the ones of my Mum and Dad's wedding...... maybe it is something to do with the fashion sense that is current in the Midlands (they were from Birmingham). Congrats to LM and Dad. A big achievement. Didn't you get your CP corset affair from the same shop as LM's dress then Suzi??
love and hugs to you both Lx
Who you know Susan our Julies a cheeky monkey,it wasnt the price of the Italian food it was the meger amount. That and me being a good English food disher up,with plenty on yer plate.Last night we had lamb roast it was a meal to die for well you know what I mean, good stuff.
Well enough of myy braging hope you are both O K. lots of luck with the chemo tomorrow and the next three days hope it wears off quick so you are able to enjoy your stay in Devon, cant wait to see you both lots of love L M xxxxxx
