"keep fit"

hi - hope you are all coping with the return to work -- not meaning to gloat, but I'm happy here at home!

I went to the gym yesterday for aerobics and did the cycle-fit class the day before, when B had a day membership... it was good to go together for the first time in 12 months!

Yesterday I also saw my doctor and my dentist then met up with two mates for lunch at Trentham.

Today I've seen my physio to try and release the painful muscles in my neck and shoulder -- so I'm just going to swim later .. Hopefully I'll get the pain sorted next week, before my op so I can lie peacefully in my bed.

I've also spoken to James and found out where we are spending the weekend (TOMORROW!)
It looks delightful, J has been there many times, and if the weather is too wet to take in the glorious lake district scenery it looks like a good place to lounge around in.

Hi Sue,
Glad you are into the keep fit. I could do with some of that myself methinks. Also my fat cat Felix on the steroids is 2 times too big & vet says he must go on a diet. Tess (his sister)is slim & active so I have to feed them in turns. What a set-up!

I have finaly found a little Limerick from a library book I got today. It's not such an easy task looking for suitable verse. Anyway, I think you will like this + it is short.

There was a young Fellow of Wadham
Who asked for a ticket to Sodom.
When they said, 'We prefer
Not to issue them, sir'
He said, 'Don't call me sir, call me modom.'

The reply to me would be, 'Don't give up your day job.'
But then again, I aint got one.
Take care. Love Pauline (cousin)

Well if you get bored and it was open, you could pop down to grizedale and give this a go, see how much good the keep fit has done you.

hi -- good greif Pauline, I'd agree about not giving up the day job...

@ kay - looks fun, but they'r not open atm :( Don't they have something similar at Trentham?

They do but its not that good and overpriced , better to spend the money going to stare at monkeys.

There is one in the delamere forest for when you are recovered? :)

Wow the accomodation looks fantastic, hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I'm glad to see that your exercise regime is adequate for both of us. Saves me brushing off my trainers just yet.
Can you confirm if/when you would be okay with me coming up after your surgery. That way I can set to and book some leave (?) and the train ticket. I haven't actually got any leave left, so booking it may prove to be an excercise in creativity. But you know I'm always up for a challenge.

haha kay - I dont think I'll ever be recovered enough for that sort of caper, to be honest!

@ Julie, glad to be of service re exercise ... tho we seem to have picked up some of your patented clothes-shrinking washing powder while we were down your way! It's a bit too soon to say when you should come ... depends how the thing goes and how long B has off with me .. but the week beg 29th looks very practical, that's the start of my 3rd week after the op. and not too close the the existing 1/2 term plan ..

Ive just been to the laundry to report my trousers shrinking - but it appears the Trust is too over spent to replace them. I asked laundry lady which approach I should go with - one pair of uniform trousers all week, or flash my pants (which have also been affected by the mystery shrinkage virus - and even I have to say the over all look isn't attractive). Laundry lady isn't well known for her humour.
I'm on the waiting list - but it's a long list and since the unfortunate incident when I dyed a whole mass of white uniforms pink (due to a stray tissue in one of the pockets) I haven't been popular in the laundry department

Julie -- oh dear !!

perhaps the trousers could be recycled so ladies the size below get the shrunk trousers and the trust only has to get new ones for the size 22 nurses at the end of the line?

And perhaps the Trust could re-brand while they're at it and go pink for the corporate colour? white is so last century!

@ Kasia - I hope you have a great time in Poland and I look forward to seeing you when you get backback ...
