six and counting

Six days left! It seems a bit negative to be doing a "count-down" but that's how it feels .. :(

On the brighter side I had a good day yesterday.. a happy hour with my physio has made a huge difference to my stiff neck and shoulder .. it is like magic!

Then I went food shopping, determined to make some food myself this week. I cooked up a few rainbow foods, including red cabbage for later in the week and a big stew we ate last night. I invited Kate down to watch me in the kitchen .. no doubt she was amazed! hahaha .. she wasn't too put off to eat some of it, anyrate!

We just had raspberries for breakfast ... yum .. I know it's not a great carbon foot-print eating soft fruits from MEXICO (bejayzus!) but I do love them and it's a groovy way of getting vit C and the colour of anti-oxidents into my body...

I've still not had any contact from the stoma nurse so getting onto them is a priority today .. and in the meanwhile I've found a stoma-users message board which looks fabby with lots of tips and experiences to share on there .. I'll spare you the link cos it is certainly a case of "too much information" in some of the threads but I think it will prove a real life-line for me....
xx

Thinking of you - especially on Monday.
We have booked to see the caravan on Saturday to discuss what paving we would like around it. Fred, Pauline, Julie, Toby and myself are all going but Joe has decided that he does not want to see it yet. After long and careful deliberation he has decided that he would rather wait until we can actually use the caravan at the end of March so that the excitement at seeing it for the first time will be greater. I think Joe is the most excited about it and talks about it every day.
With lots of love and best wishes to you both - Mistry Dad

@ Mistry dad -- how amazing that Joe wants to keep that element of exctiment about the caravan going -- bless him. I hope you can all agree on colour schemes .. HAHA I think that brush I got dad for christmas will give you a great starting point! LOL

Dear Susan, isnt that strange?Joe wanting to put of seeing the new caravan,he was jumping up and down here when he found out that it had been deliverd and out on the site,he was all for going straight away, last
Sat; but we couldnt go then.
Keep up with your positive thinking,it is a very strong tool to use, when I went onto hospital for that last op I had I had complete faith in the Dr's and I hadnt seen them like you have to strengthen your mind to accept that they will be doing the best thhey can for you.
It was nice to read that you all had a good time
and that James was on top form,(as usual).
Your Mum is still irritated with her cough
and we are having cups of tea at all hours of the night reading and then dozing of again.

We are willing it to go away so we can come and see you.next week? we hope. Love Dad xxxx

Susan I have a suggestion for the brush inspired colour scheme - but it wouldn't get through the censors. Think rainbow food, and thoughts for YOU - and neutral for the caravan.

haha - to you all! Mum, that pressie was MEANT to be for dad, being as he so admired the design and lively colours when we saw them at Trentham! .. you need to encourage him to use it ... I guess Julie will be relieved if it is staying in your broom cupboard.
PS on the theme of rainbows --> rainbow food food - it's not a great idea to wear white when eating it .... hmm .. red cabbage goes dark purple on contact with white fabric ..

@ K - glad to hear from you again, hope your exam went OK (which one was it you did this time?) such a shame about TK maxx closing - I'm sure we're all united in grief about it. I'm extra sad I wont be able to get into the shop in the groovy sales! Maybe Julie will feel the urge to come up sooner that she was going to now!

@ jean - re that site - I like it -- it maybe male dominated but the main person I'm talking to is a woman, of 28 who's got bowel cancer .. how sad is that? she has her wedding planned for June the treatment means she probably wont be able to have kids cos her ovaries will be buggered .. (tho she could maybe harvest some eggs for IVF - they sort of mention that in the literature about radiation side-effects ... Lance Armstrong's kida are all IVF babies from his "saved" sperms)

@ jean - oh I think we're talking at cross purposes, I'm enjoying the IA fourm, but that gay one is probably for gay men, pursuing their usual objectives! hehe

TK Max closing down !!!!!!! Susan I know you have one or two things on your mind right now but I feel a phone call would have been in order. I need to go and lie down - or find the train timetable.
