communications

Hi folks -- I'll make this my last pre-op blog.

Brigid will be telling my mum and dad how things are going while I'm in hospital and they will add the news on the comments in here.
It is unlikely that she'll be doing many other calls at first, so this will be the main source of messages.

You could call the hospital directly, of course:

01782 625431

and when I am feeling better I can take incoming calls to my room!!!
You won't need to know my room number, cos the place is so small the staff will easily be able to put the call through from just my name.

Should you fancy a more old-fashioned method of communications you could write to me:

The North Staffordshire Nuffield Hospital
Clayton Road
Newcastle-under-Lyme
Staffordshire
ST5 4DB

Of course I'll be back on-line as soon as I can.
Thanks to you all for you all your kindness, support, messages, cards, prayers etc. I go into this with every confidence and lots of love and good cheer to boost me through it.

xxx suze

To all the good people who have suported Susan over these last few months.
Susan is over the operation and is in the recovery room, and all the signs are that it is a 100% removal of malignant tisue, and that it had not gone to places that they suspected it to be .
So you can imagine the relief that we all feel (faamily that is ).
We know you all have been a tremendous
suport to Susan and that lovely Brigid
Mum and I are so greatfull to all of you for your outstanding help and
encouragement and always so POSITIVE
an outlook that I am very greatfull for .
our love to all of you ,MUM and DAD.

Thanks for the update Dad; and thanks too to B's mum who gave me a call this afternoon - that meant something. Mostly that I could stop shaking with worry and give up the blarting I have be so worried!

All my Christmas’s have come at once to know that SUPER SUZE has come through this part and is well on the way to recovery – YAY!

Tons more love still to come so watch this space!!!

Strictly no phone calls from me to suze for at least a week so my stories don't make her laugh and split those tender stitches LOL  (well maybe not quite a week- I am not sure I can last THAT long without a natter)

Looking forward to her coming out so we can compare scars! I think she’ll probably beat me hands down as all I can sport is my injuries from being run over by an Interflora van!

LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!!

Having trouble putting things on here ,thid try.
I phoned the hospital, and spoke to
Brigid who was there, and everything is going as expected,Susan is in the process of regaining consciousness, when she can she speaks to Brigid, says the pain is not to bad,and the specialist as seen Susan and is pleased with the
outcome ,and said they will start taking the various tubes out tomorow.
So all the news is good. I am sure that Susan will soon be banging away on her keyboard soon, back with us .
Many thanks to all of you who care for Susan as much as we do love to you all .Mum and Dad xxxxxx

I am having a slightly selfish moment of relief... how wonderful is this news?

I also saved the phone number of the hospital as "Muffield". Maybe that was a sign in itself.

What great stuff. Very, very happy...

Dad, I'm sure it was wonderful hearing Sue's voice. Thanks for keeping us up to date with S and B's progress.
Pleased to hear you have taken some porridge and soup Sue, it would be a total tragedy if you faded away at this point in the proceedings from a lack of nutrients.
Just incase you are remotely interested - I have now reached the heady (but sad to say, far from impressive) heights of 13 seconds on the chin bar.
It's a mystery to me from which part of the genetic pool Joe and Toby sourced their fitness. Love you always, Julie

Hello everyone, more good news Susan is
likley to be HOME on Friday/Sat.
We spoke earlier today and she had had,
all the drain tubes removed and her
Physio said she was a very good patient
as to her genarall body fitness, and if she could manage the stairs, she could be coming home.
Mark phoned tonight after checking if it was still OK to visit on Fiday, and
Susan told him that she may even be comig home with him.

So we are all waiting to see what happens on Friday .
Our thanks to all of you Dad

Well done Sue for making such a good recovery that they are looking to discharge you home. Stand by with the bland beige food Brigid - I'm guessing that Sue will need a gradual post hospital reintroduction to rainbow foods. Great news with love to you both Julie

my goodness! friday is amazing news! she must've been doing all the right things to be getting on so well, how lovely!

Having just studied the dieticians advice I have just putting together my shopping list.

With a bit of imagination I intend to keep Suzi on a speedy recovery - without anything bland or beige - with the exception of mash, which is on the recomended list for initial foods, and which happens to be one of Suzi's favorites.

I may even experiment making fresh pasta, which my new magic juicer is able to do. This I intend to mix with a range of herbs or pesto pastes as these are also a favorite of Suze's.

Oh and an extra special thanks to Dad and LM for those very special Tuffy Tofty genes!

Coming home so soon sounds like *great* news -- I'm so pleased to hear that Suzi's recovery has been so quick!

Hope things go well today :)

All the best
