don't worry

I know some of you think it is a strange thing if there isn't an entry every day, but some days there isn't time!

Yesterday was taken up by a pleasant few hours in the hairdressers in the morning and an unpleasant few hours in bed with belly-ache and exhaustion in the afternoon...

So, no blog.
AND I'm a bit behind with emailing ppl. too....

Mum and dad were here, and mum made a nice tea, which they all enjoyed, and I had had a bit of it... Not too hungry at times.

Today has been much less belly-ache. M+D picked me up at 10 and we had a couple of hours up 'anley, duck. including bumping into Cousin Pauline and having a coffee together in The Lounge.

There was a VERY strong smell of gas on the ring-road behind Marks and Spencer but no sign on Transco, desite the numerous calls made by The Lounge managers.
Today's top-tip: don't go smoking near Hillcrest St .
(and if it blows up you know that it was notified YESTERDAY!)

Dorchester Drama
My sister wasn't impressed when I laughed at this, but wouldn't you laugh if she told you:
the mistry brothers are "off sick" (sic) from school (sent home by the teachers) but well enough to get the saws and hammers out and start crafting a bird-table as soon as they get back.
Then they don't notice that one of the chickens took a fancy to the mastic and glued her beak together ..

SEE?

Ah there dear Suze,

Late at night (well it's late in Montreal even if not in Calgary where I am and am) tis grand to read a post like this... the day's tip (okay, i was warned and promise not to go near the place, let alone smoke there...) and the mistry brothers latest episode of off-school sawing made me grin and grin... i might be quiet and not pipe up but i read your blog every two days at least so i can root for you and glory in your doings (as they say out in the Maritimes....)...

Gack on the bellyaches and exhaustion i say but that's the fightin' works for ya... it works and you get to be tired... glad you're out and about... and i grin at you...

Me in Calgary with me auld mum who right hilarious as usual, takes after me, she does... she's just been doing a week of radiation to the head herself... when she's not snoozing mightily she reports she is finally feeling like herself again. This means I have to bring her a slab of ribs to augment her hospital tea! Between ribs, sushi, and greek food, we have no time for anything.... Though at times we lie around side by side in her hospital bed and yap and kill ourselves laughing. She leads the life of Riley whereever she is... (hey do you English folks know about the life of Riley? I don't think Riley was English! He lived next door to Mrs. Murphy of the chowder, didn't he?) (Surely you know that old song?)

Ah and a wave to you and hope you rise above the bellyache as you are, as you are...

best best and big grin from erín (liz k's erín!)

Hi Sue. This is cousin Pauline here. It was great to see you yesterday+mum+dad. You looked well even though I know you are poorly really. I feel sure you will crack it in the end.
Last nite I went out to Smithfield pub by invitation as they open a restaurant. It was very busy + lovely buffet. Anyway, I missed my dose of 'Suppranos' so I will watch the repeat on Sunday nite.
Take care. Love. Pauline x

Pleased to see poor Sophie's mastic experience brought a smile to people's faces. For obvious reasons this was more than Sophie was capable of. Glad to report that she can now suck up her pureed seed through a straw.
Lucy meanwhile has pulled all her feathers out and looks not unlike a scraggy pom pom. Needless to say neither bird has layed any eggs for weeks.
I am sometimes tempted to open both the kitchen and oven door and let them find a warm place to roost.
