another weekend

Felt a bit better yesterday. Though I was/am still bothered by side-effects, I was not as ground-down by them, and I managed to sleep all through last night. Today has been a rough start, but I'm optimistic that it will settle down again as the day goes on.

Contacts
It was a good day for people getting on touch yesterday. Karen popped in during the afternoon and we had a good chat.

Later my old school mate Lynn phoned. We nattered on for about an hour, which was delightful
The SUPER good news is that now she has been made a QC (triumphant fanfare)
and has got one of these fabulour horse-hair wigs, so if the chemo takes its toll on my coiffure she can lend me hers:

(obviously this is NOT my mate Lynn, but unless I can prevail on her to send me a snap of herself, which she seemed strangely reluctant to do - this woman will have to serve for illustrative purposes!)

Yes, my dear, it is WRONG, very wrong ..

go and sip a bit more of that bromide I sent you.

PS - I am feeling better now - going to risk moving more than 10 yards from a loo and going out for a walk ... :)

Cherie looks attractive in the wig? Oh dearie me no. She looks like an over-stuffed horsehair sofa. Hi suze. :) Promise me you won't wear a wig anything like that one, even if you do find yourself feeling drafty! I hope your friend looks better (and forgives me these comments about some legal wigs); surely there have to be really high ones for self-important people and rather natty smaller ones for women who know what looks right? I have been in court when the wigs have been out and have never seen one quite that bad. Glad you slept a bit.

I cant believe this unseemly pushing and shoving over Cherie Blair .. I have some very strange pals!

Kasia - I'm glad you had another great day at Trentham - we've bought annual tickets for the Italian Gardens now -- which wouldn't be much use to you in the winter (they close at 4) but I hope to enjoy a few strolls around there during the day when we get a bit of winter sunshine.

Also - what an amazing result on the football .. "Come on You Reds" --- even Charlton held a draw at Newcastle .. though they said part way through the commentary that Dowie's premierhsip record is about 48 games played and only 8 won .. something like that, very DIRE!
