The oldest and newest ex-students

Getting email from Scott (see below) sent me digging in my photo albums...
I taught "scott n rob" in my first class (2001-2003)
These pics are the end of year party at my house in June 2003,
THIRTEEN years ago--

I was 34 in this pic and they were 18
and now they are in their 30s themselves..
weird..

Here are a few more of the same class..

Then hre are three of this year's lovely lot - who were so keen on grammar they called themselves "grammar-corner" and drew apostophes on their faces ..
(I look on this as a high point of my career - getting students to enthuse about grammar..!)

I'm also VERY proud of the two Lauras here who did SO well in their exams and have both gone on to do English Lang-thingies at Lancaster Uni --- which is perhaps another high point - cos Meagen (below) from this class also got into Lancaster .. TOP STUFF !

hi "untapped" -- *tsk* I'm not sure meagan will be flattered or horrified by your comment - I've asked her for permission to show this pic - so it might be gone soon!

Which hospital are you working at? The Infirmary is where I'll be going every day for my radiation so it would be good to see you if you are up there...
I'll read your blog later -it is brand new?

Going back to a similar era I'll never forget your excitement when you bought a sexy black opel manta into college ... you were just uncontrollable! You kept going to the classroom window to check on it!

It is brand new.

You can call me Michael, I was more referring to singup names. It would be horrifying to be called untapped in everyday life, especially in the supermarket.

I only work at The Infirmary on Saturdays, CGH the rest of the time. So you'll be on ward 2?

Do the 'Stoke at Lancaster' Posse realise that Matthew Davis is one of them? He is doing post grad there now.

Is that you, lizzie - anon ? .. well they could look out for Matthew -- I cant believe he's still there, tho --

@ Michael -- Meg has pointed out to me that she isn't dead keen on this shot - nonetheless - she's agreed to let me keep this shot on here .. (cheers meg!)

(she IS prettier than this in r/l - so the picture doesn't flatter her - where as I always think I look better in pics than I do in real!)
xx

@ Michael -- I'm not going to the CGH at all - I've been treated in the Nuffield, cos some time ago I ditched principles in favour of insurance and signed up with BUPA ..

and bloody glad too, cos the waiting list for the TEST to see if you've got bowel cancer round here is a STAGGERING 26 weeks -- where as I got mine 6 days after seeing the consultant.

40% of admissions for bowel cancer in our area are emergencies due to blockages -- no wonder with everone waiting 6 months to get a diagnosis .. it is SICK and distressing, and I hate feeling pleased about being in BUPA -- but I can't deny it ..

Yep it is me! Matt is still at Lancs cos he has had a lot of serious health probs (some kind of skin thing that makes him v ill and can be life threatening) while he has been trying to complete his PhD. He says they have been v supportive and allowed him to just take his time. I had tea with him in Lancs a few weeks ago. It was a delight!

@ Lee - I wasn't kidding when I said that the Strawberry Punch was the last alcoholic drink I've had -- well at least I enjoyed it -- tho I think I'm allergic to Strawberries! LOL
