C+R day 3

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH
I am typing this with one hand plunged into a bucket of water after an unfortunate incident with the iron. I am soooo unused to ironing I obviously momentarily forgot that I'd switched the damned thing on and seared three fingers of me left hand on the hot bit... WHAT A NUMB SKULL!

Ppl who know we have a cleaner to do ironing will be pondering WHY I'm even looking at the iron... HA .. I have decided to keep up my morale by dressing smartly when I go out and to cut more of a dash at the hospital than you can in baggy tracky-bottoms .. ... a plan that is seriously compromised by having no trousers that fit me properly (since I've lost a couple of stone - the silver lining in the whole enterprise!)...So I rooted an old pair out to wear today and they needed ironing.. the rest is history.....

And yes, I have tried to buy some new ones... also difficult...
Debenhams had some that fitted quite well, but only had SHORT length in my size...
M&S quite nice over the bum and leg, but a bit snug over the loaf area..
Evans - I just refuse to shop in there when I'm size other shops sell!

I'll keep you all informed on these crucial issue..
maybe hourly updates....?

my hand still hurts :(

Hahahaha... I gave up ironing a long time ago for the very same reason you're about to never touch the thing again.

May I point out at this stage that before the onset of modern technology, my darling mother used to iron my hair (read: head). It's amazing how cautious you become following war wounds on your skull.

Disclaimer: the author of this comment is laughing with suze, not at her. ;o)

@ jean - don't be so vulgar -- the moderator only JUST allowed this comment through ...

I meant "loaf" as the loaf-sized tumour in my belly -- swelling me out a bit more than usual! Well that's my story of why the waistbands are too tight, and I'm sticking to it!

I absolutely agree re housework -- I will be leaving it well alone now .. in fact one of the radiographers told me I shouldn't be ironing with my condition .. bless her .. so now it's official ..

@ sam was this an early attempt and GHD straighteners by your mum, then ?

@ Keiran "me hand" is a feature of local dialect (it is a non-standard possessive pronoun) -- think "audience and purpose" .. tho I'm VERY pleased that you noticed, and will look forward to strict S.E. use at all times from YOUR good self!

Good luck with the fund-raising on Friday ... I hope you raise LOADSA money ...

Aye... indeed it was. The finished hair looked sleek as hell, but really wasn't worth the pain. Besides, I recently treated myself to a rediculously over-priced limited edition pink pair of GHDs... the only redeeming factor being the £35 cancer research donation included. Ultimately still burning the forehead from time to time, but such is the price we pay for fashion and beauty these days!

Hope you have a good night whatever you're up to. Just off home so will check in tomorrow morning (to my bosses utmost delight...) ;o)

Inabit.

@ Sam -- I've been able to give up GHD since my hair got so short .. there's nothing to straighten!

You need to send me a new pic as you change your looks more often than me, I need to know if I'll recognise you when I see you.

there you go! there is a proof that you should not be doing this kind of work! :-)
You are obviously still very good in typing! I am glad that this injury has not prevented you from more important things!
And there is nothing wrong with Evans! I used to work there! :-)

I think that I found your couple of stone... look, right here around my waist! Although, to get rid of it I'm rasing money for cancer research so it just goes to show that the world is a cirle of, well, something...

Lovely to see you today!

Oh, and I THINK that I have the hang of posting comments just once instead of three times now... I'm not good with technology - I just pretend...

I might let you off, i see how you manage to dig your way outta the hole....

Got to go to bed now, driving test tomorrow :(

Tsk Tsk...step away from the housework Suze! =)

I think maybe you should employ Kieran to do it, i'm sure he'd be very thorough haha.

I hope you're feeling alright other than this slight injury, i'll try and be a more constant commenter (even though I always read!)

Much love x

GOSH you lot have been busy while I've been away -- 17 comments is now a record ...

@ Michael - I'm SURE we had this argument about me having a cleaner years ago -- so are you forgiving me for the BUPA thing then? (which I have to say I found a much harder thing to do than employing a cleaner .. )

@ mum and dad - you two have really made me laugh there ... kinky mum.. eh? gosh ....

@ Julie, what do you know about ironing? I'm sure mum has more than one basket of your laundry at her house ..

anyrate the ice pack treatment yesterday really reduced the swelling and there is only one finger with a blister on it ..

@ charlie -- hi - glad to hear you are still hovering ... and hopefully working hard too, this year!
