Sailing Through

Regulars will recall that Dr Adab thinks I will "sail through" this course of treatment.

Here is the pendant that Brigid has bought me to encourage this. It is a lovely thing, and also an early anniversary present.

B and I have been a couple now for nearly 14 years (Nov 28th) When she gets her superstitious head on she says she'll be glad to see the back of the stigma of 13 years .. .. hmm... I tend to agree with her.

To sail through
is a verb that means : "Accomplish quickly and easily, make easy progress through. This expression alludes to a boat moving quickly and easily through the water.

My (more pedantic) legal-eagle, Q.C. wig-wearing friend opined that real sailing is perhaps a bit harder than metaphoric allusions suggests, so on her advice I will not be undertaking any REAL sailing without proper instruction.

Today
I think my symptoms have settled down into a predicatable pattern, which makes them easier to deal with. Basically the mornings are dominated by sharp pains and taking up semi-permenant residence in the bathroom, and the rest of the day is a lot better ... thankfully!

I dunno quite how I'm going to fit in the visit to the radiation unit with the morning-trauma ? ? ?

Hi Cousin Sue,
Lovely necklace. Hope it brings luck.

Here is another insperational text from my library book:The Gospels of Thomas.

Incipit: These are hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke and that Didymus Judas Thomas wrote down.
1. And he said: Whoever finds the correct interpretation of these sayings will never die.

2. Jesus said:The seeker should not stop until he finds. When he does find, he will be disturbed. After having been disturbed, he will be astonished. Then he will reign over everything.

You may want to copy & paste into your religeous stuff or not. It's up to you.
The Gospels of Thomas never made it into the Bible which is a shame. Lots of brill., & heady stuff was rejected or distroyed so the seeking is a lifelong task. With lots of breaks ofcourse. Take care & love from Pauline. xx

wat you mean 13 years stigma? Never heard that one before - 7 year itch yes, but 13 years stigma never! 13 is very lucky for me...

Hi there laydeez .. Thanks, Pauline for the Gospels of St Thomas, I will put them across in the TakeHeart blog sometime ..

@ Kasia- I'm pleased you got your "new" bedroom ready to use now -- I thought it looked great, your rooms are soooo BIG, and the colopurs you chose work really well ..

@ jean - hmm, you are SO practical .. of course, being an FB I never wear white anything, so that risk is avoidable, but the carrier bag is a great tip! (don't they all have holes to stop kids killing each other with them?

As for the appointments .. I am considering it .. I see Dr Adab on Tuesday, so I'll ask him .. but if I can get it under control with (is there a single word for the opposite of laxatives?) then I like the 9.10 appt, cos it is hard for them to be running late when they've only been on the go for 40 minutes, and then the rest of the day is free, which is really nice ...

we'll see!

hi - I think I'm getting these side-effects under some control -- had a tab last night got up a lot earlier this morning, and the two together seem to have made it manageable ..
so I felt a bit better this morning, and feel pretty fine now -- just tired!

hi mum - thanka for all this - there have been a few probs at Google this week, hopefully all sorted now.

I bet NHS wigs are like NHS glasses used to be - GRIM. I'd certainly shop around if I come to need one - tho Dr Adab thinks it is rare with my drugs, esp with hair as thick as mine - even if it thins you probably wont notice
